Amber is the 3rd born child among the 5 who is under the care of their mother, a street vendor. Her mother explained to her that her father was a nomadic pasturalist and that one day he took the cattle to the far land and he never returned.Por qué Amber necesita nuestra ayuda
Amber needs help with her studies because her single mother has more children to take care of and earns little income that cannot support the whole family of six including herself most especially on payment of all the school fees. With the absence of a father figure to support the children's education, Amber's possibilities of going ahead with school on her mother's salary are limited. UP4S as a project based in Amber's home village can admit her as a pupil in the primary school.

UP4S helpt Oegandese wees- en kansarme kinderen van 3 t/m 18 jaar door ze een warm thuis en een goede schoolopleiding te bieden. UP4S heeft een basisschool en een middelbare school in het dorpje Bukomansimbi, waar veel van de kinderen vandaan komen. Een belangrijk uitgangspunt is dat we de kinderen opgevoed worden tot jonge mensen die trots zijn op hun eigen land en hier ook goed weten te (over)leven. In 2003 is stichting UP4S opgericht door Sylvia Mbabazi om kansarme kinderen in Oeganda te helpen. Sylvia is zelf opgegroeid in Bukomansimbi en woont sinds 1997 in Nederland. Sylvia was zelf in de gelukkige omstandigheid dat ze een goede basis- en middelbare schoolopleiding heeft kunnen volgen, maar voor veel van haar dorpsgenoten gold dit niet. Samen met een aantal vrijwilligers is besloten om de kansarme kinderen in Bukomansimbi en omgeving een kans op goed onderwijs te geven. Zo ontstond stichting UP4S (lees: ‘up for us’, wat zoveel wil zeggen als ‘kom voor ons op’). Leer más sobre UP4SPatrocinador Amber
