My story

My name is Luciely Luciano dos Santos and I'm 11 years old. I am attending the 6th grade of Elementary School II in the afternoon shift. In the morning, I attend the activities offered by the NGO New Generation Brazil. I have two more brothers, who also study at the institution. My favorite subject is Arts, I love to draw, color and do artistic activities. My family lived in Sergipe, but with the separation of my parents, we moved to São João del Rei. Currently, we live in a house provided by my paternal grandfather. Luzia, my mother, underwent two eye surgeries and is currently not working. She decided to come to São João del Rei so that our family could have an easier life with opportunities, since in her homeland it was always more difficult.

The New Generation Brasil Foundation was born out of the desire to offer underprivileged children in Brazil a better future. We believe that every child deserves equal opportunities. We do not stop at 'survival', but want to help the children/young people develop towards an independent and sustainable future by giving them (practical) education, with which they can later provide for themselves. Our vision is that a child can only learn and develop if it feels safe. That is why it is our mission to make this happen. We want to start by creating an environment where children feel safe and secure. Where they can really be children and develop and grow from the natural childlike interest. With the ultimate goal of offering a new generation of Brazilians the opportunity: * to develop, * to be able to make their dreams, potential and ambition come true * to be able to support themselves and their future family well.
