"I enjoy singing and dancing. I also like watching cartoons and playing with my friends especially when we are at school. My dream is to become a musician so that i can sing for people to make them happy. Singing brings me joy."

My story

I live in a family of seven children and we live with both our parents during the holidays and we go to our schools during the school term. My father is a surveyor and my mother is a shop attendant. My mother also grows some crops and keeps some chicken to raise more income to take care of us.

Why Jazmine Moureen needs our help

Moureen was brought to UP4S a year ago by her mother. Her two elder brothers had been here for their primary education and they were part of the school choir. The mother decided to bring her here to be helped with her education as well as develop her talent in music. Every term, Moureen and other kids stay at school for studies. In addition to that ,Moureen needs help with scholastic materials, clothing's and other basic daily needs while at school.

Jazmine Moureen is supported by impact partner UP4S

UP4S helps Ugandan orphans and underprivileged children from 3 to 18 years old by offering them a warm home and a good school education. UP4S has a primary school and a secondary school in the village of Bukomansimbi, where many of the children come from. An important starting point is that we raise the children to be young people who are proud of their own country and know how to survive here. In 2003, the UP4S foundation was founded by Sylvia Mbabazi to help underprivileged children in Uganda. Sylvia grew up in Bukomansimbi and has lived in the Netherlands since 1997. Sylvia herself was in the fortunate circumstance that she was able to get a good primary and secondary school education, but this was not the case for many of her fellow villagers. Together with a number of volunteers, it was decided to give the underprivileged children in Bukomansimbi and the surrounding area a chance at a good education. This is how the UP4S foundation (read: 'up for us', which means as much as 'stand up for us') was born.
