My story

Catherine is a 11-year-old girl living with her mom, who is her sole caregiver. She has no siblings and comes from a family facing extreme poverty. Despite their struggles, Catherine remains hopeful and determined. Her mother is living with HIV/AIDS, which has added to the challenges they face daily, but it has also inspired Catherine to dream of becoming a doctor. Catherine’s life is filled with resilience. They live in a small home with limited resources, often struggling to meet basic needs like food and school supplies. However, her dedication to education keeps her motivated. She works hard in school and helps her mom at home with chores, always looking for ways to lighten the burden her mom carries. Though life is difficult, Catherine's hope for a brighter future drives her. She envisions a life where she can use her education and passion to help others, especially families like hers, who need care, compassion, and support. Her story is one of courage, hope, and an unwavering desire to make a difference.

Why Catherine ayieta needs our help

Why Catherine Needs Help: Catherine needs help because her family is struggling to overcome extreme poverty. Living with her mother, who is battling HIV/AIDS, Catherine has limited access to basic necessities like nutritious food, clean water, proper healthcare, and school supplies. Despite her determination to excel in school, financial challenges often make it difficult for her to focus entirely on her studies. Catherine dreams of becoming a doctor to help her community fight diseases, but without support, her education and future are at risk. She needs assistance to ensure she can stay in school, access learning materials, and have the opportunity to grow into the person she dreams of becoming. Providing Catherine with help not only improves her current living conditions but also empowers her to pursue her goals. With the right support, she can rise above her circumstances and make a significant impact on her community in the future.

Catherine ayieta is supported by impact partner Hope4Hope Kenia

Project Held supports the children's center Hope4hope in Kenya by means of child sponsorship and project-based help such as a well, separate boys' girls' house and the farm where they can grow their own vegetables and keep animals. Hope4Hope is located in Mombasa, Kenya. Was officially started in 2010 for children of the village of Likoni. Due to poverty, the children could not go to school and had to work in the stone mines. Project leader Reginold Odhiambo has started a football project to activate the children and give them a goal. At the moment this has been expanded with a school project, a food project, a dance and music project, a children's centre and a youth centre. In Kenya, the difference between rich and poor is very large. For this reason, children and young people often go down the criminal path out of boredom and hopelessness, often they turn to drugs. The goal of Hope4Hope is to show the young people that there is hope and teach them to use their talents in a positive way. When they gather in a safe environment, they are encouraged to do well. It is important for young people to find and develop their talents. Bringing young people together is a good opportunity to tell them about God and show His love. Your support provides your sponsor child with food, school and teaching materials, housing and medical care, so that a great future perspective is offered in which they can realize their dreams. What a day looks like: The children go to school from Monday to Friday. They get up at 6 a.m. The older children help with breakfast and also help the younger children get ready for school. School starts at 7 a.m. They brush their teeth twice a day, which is not common in Kenya. At 08:45 they come back for breakfast which consists of bread or rice with vegetables and sometimes chicken for special occasions. Then they go back to school and come back for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Lunch consists of rice or beans with vegetables and an egg. Twice a week they get chapatti which is a delicacy in Kenya. At 16:45 the school is finished and they come back home where they participate in the football or dance project. The older children go to Boarding School. This is mandatory in Kenya. Your sponsorship contribution provides education, food and shelter.
