"I prefer to go to school, but I can't do that right now. I help mom around the house and with my brother Patrick. I hope I can go back to school soon. Then I can study to become a nurse when I grow up!"

My story

Hi! I'm Namwanga Betty and I'm the second daughter. I was born on December 24, 2015 and I have an older sister, a younger sister and a little brother. We live with mom in a two-room house. Daddy is in heaven. Mum takes care of us and we help her when we can. When mom works in the fields, I look after my little brother. At school I find all subjects interesting, but I like English the most. I also really enjoy playing games with my brother and sisters. My favorite food is rice.

Why Betty needs our help

Betty's mother is single. She is unable to pay the school fees on time, so Betty is expelled from school. As a result, Betty is currently not going to school.
