" When I grow up I want to be a doctor. I am interested in learning more on how the human body works in relation to the different body organs. I would want to do volunteer works in my community because it's in a rural area and alot of people there struggle with health care facilities. I love to dance, sing and play outside."

My story

I come from a rural area deep in Sembabule where the only activities we do are digging and cattle keeping. I am in a family of 4 people. Mother, father and 1 sister. My family is in a very remote area so any chance of getting even the smallest education is appreciatedand not taken for granted. My parents struggle with all of us and since they both didn't get any education, they are doing there level best for us to get it.

Why Ana needs our help

She has been at UP4S since she started school, with her siblings also attending Kids Gear Primary School. Due to financial difficulties faced by the parents, support is needed to help make this child's dream a reality. With €1 per day, you can make a difference and help ease the burden on the parents. The school fees per term (3 months) are €138. Support from a sponsor would make a significant difference by covering at least half of the school fees for the three terms in a year. She will be very grateful for your help.

Ana is supported by impact partner UP4S

UP4S helps Ugandan orphans and underprivileged children from 3 to 18 years old by offering them a warm home and a good school education. UP4S has a primary school and a secondary school in the village of Bukomansimbi, where many of the children come from. An important starting point is that we raise the children to be young people who are proud of their own country and know how to survive here. In 2003, the UP4S foundation was founded by Sylvia Mbabazi to help underprivileged children in Uganda. Sylvia grew up in Bukomansimbi and has lived in the Netherlands since 1997. Sylvia herself was in the fortunate circumstance that she was able to get a good primary and secondary school education, but this was not the case for many of her fellow villagers. Together with a number of volunteers, it was decided to give the underprivileged children in Bukomansimbi and the surrounding area a chance at a good education. This is how the UP4S foundation (read: 'up for us', which means as much as 'stand up for us') was born.
